Pair-Coaching & Mob-Coaching
Chapter 13 of the book focuses on pair coaching. It’s one of the best practices for improving your coaching skills. When I think of the best ways to get better, I think of these—
Pairing - partnering with another coach in coa
Supervision - being supervised (coached, guided, mentored) by another coach.
Mentoring - focused mentoring (either as mentee or mentor) with another.
Mob Coaching - group-based coaching where someone plays a role in a scenario, and a group of coaches engage with the emerging coaching arc/stances.
Pair-Coaching
Not long ago, I attended a presentation by Lauren Tucker and Jeff Oehler. The title was - Pair Coaching - Are two really better than one? At our 2023 TriAgile conference. It reminded me that I still don’t hear many coaches talking about pairing, which is unfortunate, primarily because I’ve found it valuable to my coaching journey AND clients.
So, I asked them to do the presentation again as part of my Agile Moose webinar series.
Additionally, I’ve written this series on my blogs—

That shares some of my own experience in pairing.
I prefer to pair in nearly all of my coaching if the client is amenable to it.
Mob Coaching
One of the best ways to understand mob coaching and see its value is by experiencing it. And one of the best ways to experience it is attending the iCAgile-sponsored Coaching Circles.
