I’m adding this page to the Agile Moose - About section because you can tell a lot about a person based on the causes, ideas, groups, and organizations they support.

This list isn’t intended to be all-inclusive and will change over time. That said, Bob Galen - The Agile Moose actively supports the following—

  1. Agile Alliance — as one of the only purely agnostic organizations in the Agile Community, I find it hard not to support the alliance. They do an incredible amount of good work. My favorites include Women in Agile, Agile in Color, and Agile Coaching Ethics support programs. I can’t encourage each of you enough to join the Alliance. Last time I checked, it was only usd$49. What a deal!

  2. DEI Initiatives—I strongly support diversity and inclusion efforts within and across our agile community. If you are a woman, a person of color, or otherwise self-paying for training and want to attend one of my workshops, please reach out for possible discounts and scholarships.

    1. Agile in Color

    2. Scrum Masters of African Decent

    3. Women in Agile

  3. Changing the Narrative.org — This group is fighting ageism in all its forms. I, for one, am guilty of ageism when referring to myself. I often speak of myself as a “dinosaur,” but I’m working to stop that thinking/messaging. We need to actively change our narrative around age and aging, and Janine Vanderburg is doing something extraordinary here.

  4. Sustainability - Joanne Stone, Jutta Eckstein, Ann-Marie Kong, Scott Seivwright, and many others! This includes supporting these communities—

    1. The Week

    2. Agilists4Sustainability

    3. Green PO

  5. Moose Herd—a Lean Coffee, collaborative space for anyone in the agile space to visit for camaraderie, community, support, and discussion. All Mooses are welcome.

  6. Badass Agile Coaching Days—is an annual virtual conference that I’ve run for three years now. It focuses on Badassery in Agile Coaching. All proceeds support causes that I care deeply about. The three so far have been Africa Agility, Agile for Ukraine, and Women in Agile.

More on Sustainability

I’m getting more and more involved in sustainability initiatives, both publicly and privately. I actively support the following UN sponsored Sustainable Development Goals
